Dear Ask The Doctor: I am a 30 year old female 145 lbs 5 ft 7. I have no serious health problems. I woke up this morning with a full bladder. When I got up I noticed pain in the groin area close to where the leg joins with the groin and a little higher. After urinating the pain got worse in that same area. I could not straighten my leg without sharp pain. I fell back to sleep and when I woke I felt a good bit better. I started to get minor pain again a few hours later. About an hour after the pain started again it got sharp again. The pain was so intense it was accompanied by naseau. I have tried to poop but only a little comes out and it is more like diaherra.
Dear Shavon: It is difficult to say what you may be having without having examined you. You have also not mentioned which groin it is. So i am going to give you my thoughts on various scenarios and you can see which one applies to you the best. If the pain is in your right groin area: the possible causes may be either appendicitits or an ovarian cyst which is rupturing. If the pain is more diffuse in both groins then it could be a urinary tract infection, a ovarian cyst , a gastroenteritis or even an ectopic pregnancy ( if you are currently sexually active). It could also be an acute hernia considering that you have had 3 c sections in the past. In any case you need to see you GP sooner than later for a more indepth physical examination and tests which he/she may deem fit. I hope this helps. All the best. |
