Atrial fibrillation and ischaemic heart disease

Dear Ask The Doctor: Im taking a blood thinner , warfarin , lisinopril , metoporol, for atrial fibulation can it be associated with ischemic heart disease

Dear Allen:Atrial fibrillation can be associated with ischaemic heart disease. It can also occur in patients who have had an acute heart attack or a previous heart attack with an overall reduction in heart function. I would recommend that you remain on these medications for heart rate control and to prevent the risk of systemic blood clots. .
