How to cure boils

Dear Ask The Doctor: I have been getting random outbreaks of boils within the last few years they come and go.... I get a a group of them at a time.. Currently i have six all on my right side... what can i do to get rid of them for ever? Ive been to the hospial for them once... hey told me it was due to stress and gave me bactrim and told me ill be fine.

Dear Nicole:

I know how worry you are about your repetitive condition. Boils and carbuncles are painful, pus-filled bumps that form under your skin when bacteria infect and inflame one or more of your hair follicles.

Boils usually form when one or more hair follicles the tube-shaped shaft from which hair grows become infected with staph bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus). These bacteria, which normally inhabit your skin and sometimes your throat and nasal passages, are responsible for a number of serious diseases, including pneumonia, meningitis, urinary tract infections and endocarditis. These bacteria generally enter through a cut, scratch or other break in your skin and when you already have a boil; it is very easy to re infect the area especially if the pus contained inside is spread through your skin.

I would suggest you to comply with your antibiotics and wash the boil three times a day before applying the antibiotic, never try to open the boil and wash your hands constantly to avoid spreading the infection to other parts of your body.
