Bloating and Burping, any solutions??

Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi, I am writing in concern of my stomach bloating. I am 21 year old male who is very fit and healthy. I am mostly lean muscle and I run regularly. I eat very healthy. I also eat three times a day. I don't over consume food either. For some reason my stomach is always bloated. I also burp very loud and very often. I drink water regularly. Should I be concerned? Thanks

Dear Adam: You may consider diet changes. Try to identify foods in your diet that cause increased bloating. Some foods known to cause bloating include beans, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, sprouts, onions and garlic. Increased sugar intake, chewing gum, smoking, constipation and stress may also contribute to factors causing bloating. Thus avoiding or reducing the intake of foods that may be the culprit, could help you provide relief. Tums, peptobismol etc. are some medication options for the problem.
