Dear Ask The Doctor: I can make my left arm numb just by placing my neck in certain positions. A neurologist did a nerve conductivity test and there is no damage yet. Is there a procedure that can elliminate these spurs? Dear Lloyd: There are no surgical procedures aimed primarily at eliminating bone spurs. The fact that you have significant symptoms when you r neck is placed in certain positions may be an indication for spinal surgery. Fusion of your cervical (neck) spine may relieve your symptoms. You will need to see a orthopedic spine surgeon for a complete evaluation and to determine the best course of action |
