Dear Ask The Doctor: My daugher has bumps the size of quarters on her lower legs and knees. she has been diagnosed with shine splints after an mri was performed, an ultrasound shows edema where the lumps are but they are in the tissue and muscle and not in the bone.
what are these or how should i take care of this problem? what specialized doctor should we see? Daughter is 17 years old
Dear Elaine: According to your description of the bumps, I suggest that your daughter be taken to an Internal Medicine doctor for a complete clinical and lab test evaluation, in order to rule out systemic diseases with that particular skin feature. |
