Dear Ask The Doctor: I slamed my foot on the edge of a bed, and my small pinky toe bent (made a cracking sound), it bent like a L to the side...i cant bend it at all, and now i have a bump on the side of my toe that i cant bare to touch..and its still slightly swollen and it has been 10 days all ready, it hurts alot when i wear a shoe, is my toe broken Dear Arnulfo: There is a possibility of either a broken toe or a dislocation from the joint. You need to get the Xrays of the foot done to diagnose the condition. Early treatment is recommended to set the broken toe back into place, otherwise healing may occur in whatever position the bone is allowed to stay after injury, leading to malformation and residual pain or disability thereafter.
