Dear Ask The Doctor: After recently drinking quite a large amount i was extremely un well and vomiting for approx 12 hours but more worryingly developed a palsy -type claw deformation of both hands the sensation also started in my feet and felt like it was spreading up my body i was also shaking uncontrollably. what caused this and why did this happen to my hands
Dear Louise: What you are experiencing most likely is due to the acute alcohol intoxication, the sensation in your feet and the shaking mainly because the alcohol cause vitamin B depletion, also increases the urination frequency, so you get dehydrated and with an electrolyte unbalance that cause the symptoms that you described. I strongly recommend that you try to control the alcohol intake in order to avoid those unhealthy effects. |
