Concern on MRI done with contrast

Dear Ask The Doctor: I had an MRI done with contrast and the doctor called me back to tell me there was an area of concern and they wanted to do further imaging withmore contrast. This scares me so much. If it was something really serious would they told me to go to the hospital or for immediately testing? Also what is usually the result of those findings? I am just totally freaked out and I don't want to wait a week or so to have more testing then wait on those results. If my headaches persist and I am concerned if I went to the emergency room would they do further testing there? Please give me any suggestions or answers that you think may help.
Dear Rachel: Doctors are always extra cautious when it comes to areas around the brain. Going to emergency will not do anything and I would just wait until your appointment with your doctor. There is a chance it is nothing serious and they just want to make sure everything is 100%. |
