Swollen ankle in a female rugby player

Dear Ask The Doctor: 'm a 21 year old female. i had a rugby game on saturday. yesterday (tuesday) i noticed my ankle/foot is really swollen. i have no memory of twisting my ankle or injuring it at all.there is some slight brusing around both sides of my ankle and top of foot near my ankle as well as upper shin. I was wondering what the chances are this is a blood clot or if its just a late onset bruse?
