Dear Ask The Doctor: I got a small burn on a fingure from a match. Have been putting Antiseptique on it. Left it open all day, but have now put band aid on it for the night. Is there any thing that I should do or not do to deal with it? Dear Thomas: Such burns are usually superficial and heal without difficulty. Keeping the area clean is all that is required. Monitor the wound for signs of infection which include swelling, foul-smelling discharge and increased warmth in the hand. |
