Dear Ask The Doctor: My mother had got some test results back saying that their was protien in her blood and urine. What deos that mean?
Dear Amy: Increased protein in the blood serum and urine could be indicative of a cardiac or renal disease. Elevated proteins in the serum could also be caused by liver disease, connective tissue disorders or malignancy. I would suggest that your mother consult her doctor for further investigations to determine the cause of the elevated proteins. |
