MRSA and HPV together |
|
Dear Ask The Doctor: My daughter had been diagnosed with MRSA about 2 years ago. Just today, she was told she had HPV, even after having received a shot for it. Our question is, does the MRSA make the HPV worse, or vice versa? She had her crio-surgery, but is quite scared. Since she gets help from a local clinic, we are concerned that not all of our questions are not being answered. Dear Brianna: I understand how concerned you might be about your daughter’s condition. MRSA infections as you may already know can resist the effects of many common antibiotics, so they are more difficult to treat. Surely more potent antibiotics are needed to treat those infections. On the other hand, Let me reassure you that HPV is a virus that has nothing to do with MRSA in treatment and co-infection, however the only issue I can think of and I am sure that the personnel at the clinic where she is being treated is taking care of, is that they are going to be extremely careful when treating the warts caused by HPV in order to avoid infections with MRSA. I wish her a prompt recovery. |
