Lung cancer is more common in smokers as smoking is a major risk factor for the same. An individual may have symptoms of productive cough early on and then there may be some blood with the cough or the presence of coughing up frank blood. In the later stages one may also experience shortness of breath along with other constitutional symptoms like weight loss, malaise, decreased appetite and generally feeling unwell.
