Dear Ask The Doctor: I have a lump under my right ear and ringing in that same ear. I also have had nasal congestion on the same side. This has been going on now for about 4-5 months.I asked my doctor if it could be nasopharyngeal carcinoma and he said it was just allergies. Should I be worried and get a 2nd opinion? Dear Dustin: Nasopharyngeal cancer usually occurs in adolescents and persons between 50-60 years of age. Your symptoms are consistent with several conditions including nasopharyngeal cancer. However, it is far more likely that your symptoms are due to allergies. |
