Dear Ask The Doctor: 5 days ago i felt like i had been punched in the groin for no apparent reason that lasted for about 2 days and after the pain decreased i did a self examination and found a small hard tender ball on the top of my right testical, its been five days now and its still tender and there is still a mass, is this early signs of cancer or is it just a disease that needs some medication?
Testicular cancer would usually present with a painless mass inside the testicle. In your case, I doubt it is testicular cancer. However, it is a condition that needs to be checked promptly. It could be a hernia or there could be an inflammation on that area. You should see a doctor in person because a simple physical exam can tell a lot of things. With testicular pain, the most important condition that should be ruled out is testicular torsion. In this condition, the testicle rotates and will compromise blood supply to the affected testicle. If the blood supply is affected, there may be irreversible changes that could affect your fertility status. An ultrasound can rule out this condition. I do hope this helps and I wish you well always. |
