Chicken pox with high temperature in kids |
|
Dear Ask The Doctor: My 19month old came out in chickenpox 2 days ago he has developed a temp of 39.1 degree c should i get him seen by a dr incase of any other infection Dear Sally: High temperatures may lead to early dehydration and other complications in kids. If your child has already received the first dose of chicken pox vaccine, the disease would generally run a much milder course, with fewer blisters, lower fever, and a more rapid recovery. However you need to take him to his doctor for the control of his temperature and to prevent any complications like bacterial infection of the skin, bones, lungs, joints or blood. If your baby has not yet received the vaccine, it is recommended to get him a shot against chicken pox as early as possible.
