Dear Ask The Doctor: What should i do, my 2 yr old swallowed a coin , i think a dime? Dear Cindy: The dime may pass into the stools in a few days, but it is always safe to take the kid to the doctor, and probably an Xray would be helpful to make sure that the dime is not stuck anywhere along the gastro intestinal tract to cause an obstruction.
