Dear Ask The Doctor: My daughter wakes up in the am between 3am and 6am and throws up. it is yellow and foamy and she compains of her stomach hurting. it happened this morning, last week, a month ago and about two or three months ago. it is only in the am and after a couple of hours she is totally fine, back to her normal self. no fever or anything else wrong. her stomach doesn't hurt the whole time she is throwing up, it comes and goes.
Dear Lindsay:It seems that she may be having some gastroesophageal reflux which is leading to the vomitting in the am. Moreover since there are no other signs of pain or infection, i would advice you to keep a watch on the symptoms and if they worsen then please see a pediatrician in person for a prescription of reflux medication like ranitidine or pantoprazole. All the best. |
