Dear Ask The Doctor: Our kid is on Pulmicort, Albuterol, Singulair, Loradatine and numerous other medications, he still get sick as frequent as every 2 weeks. I believe it is home related or enviroment around our home. Last June we moved in 2 weeks after he had bronchoscopy and was on life support for 4 days, since then sick every 2 weeks, over 20 visits to ER, some doctors say Asthma others say allergy some say FLU. He complains of sore throat, then fever starts and breathing heavily and rapid. Predisone seems to make him better, combined with nebulizer.
Dear Tommy: It does infact seem that he has some form or reactive airway disease or asthma, This can be caused bue to allergens in the surrounding and environment which include dust, pollen, pollution, mites, pets, pet dander, soft toys, smoking in the house etc. You need to analyse your environment for the allergens and reduce the same. Also always keep a puffer at hand so that it can be used in case of a acute episode. I hope this helps. All the best. |
