Dear Ask The Doctor: My son is 6 yes old and is losing weight today I found a bald patch on his scalp what could this be . Dear Gina: He may be having some form of alopecia ie loss of hair and the subsequent bald spots.The causes of this can be varied ranging from hereditary and autoimmune causes or stress and infection related, I would advice you to get your son checked up by a dermatologist for a more thorough investigation and further treament.
