Dear Ask The Doctor: Is rabies vaccction necessery If a Dogs scratch a child of age 11years. We are unable to find the dog. After few days Child has fever and headache. After medical treatment fever and headache is normal but below the left eye some infection marks comes out. Still the child had not vaccction against rabies. Please guide us. Dear Jyoti: If you are not able to locate and observe the dog for signs of rabies, it is advisable for the child to receive rabies vaccine for prophylaxis. |
