Expired Norditropin Nordiflex

Dear Ask The Doctor: What are the risks of taking expired Norditropin Nordiflex growth hormone? I have had a prescription due to growth deficiency for about 4 years. I still have medication but it has expired by 2 months (ie. expiration date is 2/2010). The medication is extremely expensive and it would be devastating to have to replace it. Is it dangerous to take this specific medication expired or is the effectiveness just reduced? Any medical advice is greatly appreciated

Dear Austin: The expired medication usually does not have the same effect or have no effect at all; some companies give more or less a period of 1-2 months in which the drug might be still as effective as the one that is not expired.
