Pediatric facial hair

Dear Ask The Doctor: Why does my 6 year old granddaughter have upper lip facial hair?

Dear Phyllis: It is completey normal for children to have facial hair as she may just have higher than normal levels of male hormones in her. Remember all females produce androgens, and some produce more than others.
