Are Kidney Disease, Scoliosis and Retina Damage part of a Syndromes

Dear Ask The Doctor: Is it possible that scoliosis,kidney disease and retinal damage are symptoms of a type of syndrome? My Wife has scoliosis and has recently developed Kidney disease and was told she has Retinal damage.

Dear Phyllis: Kidney disease and retianl damage can be linked if the casue of the kidney disease is a vascualr condition such as diabetes or hypertension. However, no such syndrom exists that would link scoliosis with the other two conditions
