Effect of dehydration on eGRF tests

Dear Ask The Doctor: Would this dehydration have had an effect on the results of a eGRF test?

Dear Clara:

Certainly moderate to severe dehydration might alter the results of the eGFR test. Dehydration as well as certain medications such as anti-inflammatories and some antibiotics might lower the results of your eGFR.

I would suggest you to drink your regular daily fluid intake between 35 to 45 ounces of water. Don’t drink more than suggested to avoid increase in your blood pressure. I hope I cleared your doubt.
