Dear Ask The Doctor: I am starting to date someone who has occasional outbreak of cold sores and I was just wondering how contagious it is and do I have a reason to be worried? How can I avoid getting them? Thanks Dear Katie: I would not be too worried. As long as you are not sharing drinks and their saliva does not come in contact with you. You will be okay. |
