Colon Cancer Survival


Dear Ask The Doctor: If surgery is not any option and the patient chooses not to undergo any more chemo how long does a colon cancer patient have once it has metasticized into the lung and liver?

I realize the importance of your, however an estimate cannot be given with so little information. The important factors that will determine life expectancy are the stage, grade and characteristics of the illness, your age, your general overall health and your treatment plan.

On the overall experience, after a colon cancer has metastasized to important organs such as lung and especially the liver, depending on the factors previously mentioned, a minimum of 5 years might be a rough estimate.
