Dear Chantelle: Most cases of fresh blood in stools could be due to hemorrhoids, anal fissures and constipation. I would not be concerned as of now and increasing the fiber in diet and plenty of hydration will help. If the bleeding continue for a period of time, then you may need to see a gastroenterologist to rule out other causes of bleeding including polyps, tumors or intestinal infections.
