Dear Ask The Doctor: Lately i'm having a lot of headaches, feel fatigue, and now i'm caughing. Do they relate? With all 3 simptoms should i worry? Thanks Maroush
Dear Maroush: Yes they could be related. You may be having a non-specific viral illness. When one encounters a viral infection, the immune system gets suppressed for a transient period of time that is why it is not uncommon for upper respiratory tract infections (e.g. coughing, runny nose) to easily set in. If you are not having fever, you may observe it for now and do supportive measures: drinking lots of fluid, eating citrus fruits, rest, etc. It should resolve in several days, few weeks at most. If these symptoms are associated w/ fever, especially if the fever has lasted for more than 3 days, then you should see a doctor as soon as possible. I do hope I have appeased your concern and take care always. |
