Dear Ask The Doctor: I need to know if I am contagious I have been coughing, sneezing, have laryngitis It started last Thursday and on Monday of this week went to my Doctor and he checked for Flu and strep had neither. Gave me a shot of cortisone and said if not better by Friday would call in antibiotic. I am getting better each day the only concern am I contagious? I help out with my 89 year old father and 83 year old mother. Need to know when safe to go back. I stay at their house at night. Please let me know something soon. The symptoms that you are having is most probably due to a viral infection and will subside on its own within 7-10 days. Your family may also take addition measures to avoid infection by frequently washing hands. |
