Dear Ask The Doctor: I have been dealing with Pilonidal Cyst and cyst behind my ears constant for a few months. Could you please tell me what I need to do to get rid of this problem.
Dear Lisa: Pilonidal cysts may be treated surgically or non-surgically. The disease may disappear with time and may only require treatment with antibiotics when infected. Alternatively, if the cysts are significantly bothersome surgery may be performed to have it removed. However, there is a fairly high recurrence rate. Cysts (Posterior Auricular cysts) behind the ears can often be surgically removed without much complication. |
