Dear Christie: Loose, watery stools that occur more frequently than usual known as diarrhea can sometimes be present In most cases and usually last from a couple of days to a couple o weeks with no serious effect. However sometimes diarrhea can last for weeks. In these situations, diarrhea can be a sign of a serious disorder, such as inflammatory bowel disease, or a less serious condition, such as irritable bowel syndrome. On the other hand, since you are taking Prozac and Synthroid, they have diarrhea as a side effect. I would suggest you to consult your physician to rule out after a more detailed evaluation the exact cause of your persistent diarrhea. He might need to readjust your medications.
