Dear Ask The Doctor: I have had diarrhea for 12 days now..its not going away..my stomach is bloated and hurts at night..I'm constantly running to the bathroom..my bowel movements are watery and oily..I am getting lower stomach n back pain as well..don't know what is going on?? Dear Lauren: Your symptoms may be due to gastroenteritis infection most likely due to parasitic infection. However it is unusual for the symptoms of gastroenteritis to last long and you may need some antibiotics for the control of infection. There could also be a possibility of partial bowel obstruction, leading to these symptoms. It would be best to consult your doctor for proper diagnosis and early treatment.
