Dear Ask The Doctor: I have had diahreah for 6 months pian in my lower right abdomen coughing some blood in my poop and now i have a new lump on my left side of my belly button about 1 inch ove 1 inch up had ultrsasound nd they cant see it(but they can feel it) told mr to come back in 2 months any suggestions? also period only every othe month and very heavy i am 44 years old and overwieght. There could be several causes of your condition. You may be having problems with your colon because diarrhea, lower abdominal pain and blood in stools are common symptoms of colon disease. However, further blood tests and imaging procedures (scans, perhaps) might be needed to have a definite diagnosis. It is also alarming you mentioned you have lost ~60 lbs for the past year for no apparent reason. Unexplained weight loss is a telling sign of serious conditions, especially cancer.
