I mean really awful. i dont go out to eat because its irrating getting up from the table to use the restroom not once but at least 3 times during the meal. Please help me with this.
Dear Lorrie: A common explanation for diarrhoea is overflow diarrhoea secondary to chronic constipation, and this may be the cause in your case. Other causes of diarrhoea include: a gastro-intestinal infection caused by bacteria, viruses or parasites; an inflammatory bowel disorder; malabsorption syndromes; irritable bowel syndrome; or malignant growth of the gastro-intestinal tract. Any persistent change in your bowel habit warrants investigation, and I advise attending your family doctor for a detailed history and physical examination. He may perform some routine blood tests, stool samples or a colonoscopy to visualise the colon through a camera lens, to exclude any of the above causes. |
