Dear Ask The Doctor: Everytime i eat something i feel like i am going to throw up. and sometimes it is worse than others. at first i thought i was lactose intoerent. but i didnt have any milk products today and i ate something and it started to make me feel sick again. what do you think i should do??
Dear Jamie: Nausea is a non-specific symptom that can accompany a multitude of illnesses. These may range from a simple gastro-intestinal infection, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, pregnancy to gallstones or bowel obstruction. I would advise attending your family doctor for a detailed history of your nausea including associated symptoms including abdominal pain, fever, diarrhea, vertigo etc and a physical examination to reach a diagnosis in your specific case. |
