Side effects of Diatabs (loperimide)

Dear Ask The Doctor: HI i got diarrhea and i take diatabs after an hour i feel some dizziness is it a side effects of diatabs? is it normal?

Dear Gerome: Diatabs (loperimide) is used for symptomatic control of acute and chronic diarrhea. The side effects experienced with the use of this drug are dizziness, dry mouth, vomiting, stomach pain, constipation and fatigue. If your symptoms are severe, I would advise you to discontinue the drug and consult your doctor.
