Tetanus Shot |
|
Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi I recieved a tetanus shot yesterday along with two other shots. I was perfectly well healthwise yesterday then all of a sudden at 4 am this morning, i woke up freezing cold. I went downstairs and wrapped myself up in a heat blanket, i didn't get hot until about 2 hours later. This was when I started feeling like I was going to throw up and I got really hot and i was using a cold washcloth. I never threw up. When I tried to get up to go to the bathroom, my body felt so heavy. I could barely walk and my head was spinning. I took tylenol about an hour ago and I feel as if I keep getting heavier. What should I do? What type of disease could I have? Should I go to the ER? Are these side effects from the tetanus shot? Thanks for your help, Abby Dear Abby: I know how worried you are about your current side effect. Surely Fever might be caused by your Tetanus shot, it is not as common as pain on the injection site but it is also described as a side effect. The fever would usually last for a day and it should not be more than 102F. if the Fever persists for more than 2 days or increases and is accompanied by other symptoms, a visit to your physician is granted. I wish you a prompt recovery. |
