Dear Michelle: There are a number of medical conditions which have dizziness has a symptom. Some common ones include inner ear infections, Meneire's Disease, Benign Positional Paroxysmal Vertigo (BPPV) and direct injury to the ear. Meneire's Disease often causes hearing loss, ringing in the ear, nausea and vomiting in addition to dizziness. BPPV is associated with dizziness which occurs with a change in position. The dizziness typically last for about a minute. Dizziness may also be associated with Migraine headaches. You will need a complete evaluation by an ENT physician to diagnose your specific cause and start treatment. |
