Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi i recently went to the opticians to get my eyes tested as i was always getting headaches, they took pictures of my eyes that showed i have pressure on my optic nerve on my left eye, from this i have been constantly getting a sore eye. Could you tell me what this might be ?
Dear Demi: Increased pressure in your eye could indicate that you are at a risk for developing glaucoma. It is very important for you to get your eyes examined by an ophthalmologist to rule out damage to the optic nerve caused by increased pressure in the eye. Glaucoma can be treated with medication and laser surgery. |
