Right eyelid swelling during exercise

Dear Ask The Doctor: I have started working out at my local gym for about a month now. During a workout the upper portion of my right eyelid has gotten very swollen. This has only happened twice and I work out about 4 times a week. My eye itself is not red, my vision is fine, my eyelid does not get red, and nothing hurts. The upper portion simply swells. This typically lasts about 12 hours or so and then returns to normal. I can't figure out what could be causing it... it was the same eyelid both times.

Dear Nikki: Possibly you are having an allergic reaction, but in the view of your multiple eye problems previously, I suggest a reevaluation by your eye doctor to test the bilateral patency of the ducts recently placed in your eyes. Maybe the right one might be partially occluded and producing the swelling. You should also have a consultation with an Allergy specialist as well.
