Eyelid skin graft hairs poking eyeball.

Dear Ask The Doctor: I had a skin graft from the side of my face near my ear applied to my eyelid after a cancer tumor was removed. The hairs from that graft are now poking my eyelid and causing pain discomfort and a weepy eye and nasal passage. No infection. Have you any options to suggest.

Dear Sharon: you should return to your surgeon as soon as possible. The scenario you have described is a prelude to an infection which could lead to loss of the skin graft or worse. I urge you not delay any longer in getting medical attention.
