Severe pain and repeated miscarriage, Help.

Dear Ask The Doctor: I am 23 years old and I am having a serious problem that no one can answer and no one can fix. I have serious joint pain every day. I will wake up some morning and cant even hardly walk. I have trouble with my knees, hips, wrists, and shoulders. Whenever I move I pop and crack all over. I sound like popcorn. This is not an occassional problem it is an everyday misery and pain and all I get is crap because Im 23 so I am automatically labeled a drug seeker or an attention seeker. I dont really care who helps me and helps with my pain and sleepless nights I just want it done now. I need someone to actually listen and take me seriously! I dont know if this has any connection, but I have also had 6 miscarriages. PLEASE HELP ME! I also stand very crooked. My hips are not even and my whole skeletal system is crooked. I cant live like this anymore and I wont!

Dear Danielle: From the above mentioned description it seems that you may have a condition called fibromyalgia. - a syndrome in which people experience body-wide pain, tender joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. Fatigue, sleep problems, headaches, depression, anxiety, as well as recurrent miscarriage may also be associated with the condition. Main stay of treatment is the relief of symptoms, which may be achieved through an integrated treatment plan including medication, physiotherapy, aerobic exercise and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Eating a well-balanced diet and avoiding caffeine may help with problems sleeping, and may help reduce the severity of the symptoms. Try to avoid stress by measures like meditation, yoga or breathing exercises.
