Sudden Severe Headaches for three Straight Days Now! |
|
Dear Ask The Doctor: My 7 year old son has had sudden severe headaches for 3 days now he has never had these problems before this is all new and sudden I have never heard him cry like he does with these headaches. He is complaining of the pain being in the back of his head he just lays and holds his head in his hands. He has vomited a couple of times but has no signs of a cold or anything else of that nature. The pain seems to be very severe by his reactions to them i just don't know what to do I am really worried. Dear Megan: Sudden severe headaches if associated with vomiting are an indication of the increased pressure of the cerebro spinal fluid of the brain which may be due to an infection, increased blood pressure, tumour, hydrocephalus, injury etc. You should take your son to an emergency department of the hospital as early as possible for immediate treatment.
