Is the headache due to aspirin regimen or raised calcium levels??

Dear Ask The Doctor: My mom has been getting headaches everyday. She's been taking extra strength Tylenol to help relieve the pain. But it always comes back after the 4 hours are up. Anyways, before she was getting these headaches, she was on an aspirin regimen to thin out her blood and reduce blood clots. Now she is going to have surgery to have her thyroid glands taken out because it's causing her calcium levels to go up. Her doctor told her that she will need to stop taking aspirin at least two weeks before her surgery. So since now she isn't taking aspirin, she's been getting headaches. I know this because after one cancellation of her surgery, she had went back onto her aspirin regimen which made her headaches disappear! After the two week deadline finally came, she had to stop taking her aspirin. Now she's having the headaches and she can't stand them anymore. (On a side note, we took her to the doctor to have her checked out. They did a CT Scan on her head and found nothing wrong) She's thinking that it's her calcium that may be causing her headaches but I think it's her not taking the aspirin. Is this a rebound headache? Could her aspirin regimen be the cause of her headaches? Maybe her body thinks that it needs the aspirin.
Dear Thomas: Usually an aspirin regimen consists of a low dose aspirin and may not produce dependence to such an extent as to cause severe headaches. On the other hand calcium is known to produce severe symptoms even with slight increase in its levels. In other words, raised calcium levels may not corelate with the severity of the symptoms. Thus it is more likely for your mother’s symptoms to be due to her calcium levels, and her headache should be relieved after her surgery.
