Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi. I suffer from headaches, blushing, hairloss and higher heart rate while I have these symptoms. I just want to know what can possibly be wrong? face gets hot every time the blushing and headaches occur. thanx Dear Marelize:It seems that your symptoms may be due to low functioning of the thyroid gland ie the gland secreting the thyroid hormones. You will need to get your thyroid function test done which will determine whether you are hypothyroid or not. If you are there is treatment for the same. However your symptoms may also indicate excess of serotonin ( another hormone ) in your body which may lead to similar symtoms. This too needs to be investigated in case the thyroid levels are normal. I hope this helps. All the best. |
