Headache caused due to Maxillary and Ethmoidal sinusitis

Dear Ask The Doctor: I have a problem of headache..last month onwards..I consulted a doctor..and the doctor advice me to take MRI scan..just now i got the result. It showing that mild bilateral maxillary and ethmoidal sinusitis...now also pain is there in the back side of the head

Dear Jayadev: It is almost certain that the cause of your headache could be due to the bilateral maxillary and ethmoidal sinusitis. This condition is seen if you have any allergies, are a smoker, frequent flying or immunocompromised.

Treatment that will help  are nasal spray with saline several times a day, steam inhalation and using humidifiers. If the symptoms persists, then there is a chance that there may be a collection of mucus in the sinuses which may have to be removed for you to feel better.
