Dear Ask The Doctor: Is this normal?
Dear Dan: The human ear is able to detect sounds within a certain frequency range (also called pitch). This range is from 20Hz-20,000Hz. Sounds at the higher end of this frquency range may cause pain or discomfort in the ear. What you are experiencing may be quite normal. To verify, you would need to undergo some special hearing test such as audiometry to determine that your hearing is within normal parameters |
