Dear Ask The Doctor: Most new cars have bluetooth that automaticly come on when the vehicle is turned on how does that effect people with implanted defibulators?
Dear Marshal:There is no evidence that bluetooth technology interacts with Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator's (ICD's). MP3 player headphones can cause potentially dangerous interactions with ICD's and pacemakers and it is advised that they be kept at least 3 cm from the implanted devices. |
